Worcester Academy’s Ed Reilly to receive WACBA’s Paul N. Johnson Award

Holy Cross coaches Bill Carmody and Bill Gibbons nominated Worcester Academy director of athletics Ed Reilly for this year’s Paul N. Johnson Award, which the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) presents annually for contributions to Worcester area basketball.

It is a most deserving honor for Reilly, who, during his career, has excelled not only as an administrator and coach, but also as a mentor and motivator to young people and as a vital member of the community.

“He is a terrific role model for youth in the greater Worcester community,” Carmody said.

Reilly, a 1976 Holy Cross graduate who is in his 14th year at Worcester Academy, will receive the award at Thursday night’s WACBA banquet at Holy Cross’ Hogan Center. The award is named after the late Telegram sports editor. The WACBA is in its 53rd year.
