Duvivier Earns Full Scholarship
Jonathan Duvivier 2017

Commonwealth Academy post-graduate Jonathan Duvivier is headed to college on a full athletic scholarship following Saturday's commitment to Post University and first year head coach Marc Kuntz.

Duvivier arrived at Springfield's Commonwealth Academy following a terrific career at Brockton High School. In fact, he is one of only two players in Brockton history to score more than 1,000 career points and the program's all-time leading scorer.

Alonzo Jackson Earns D2 Scholarship
Alonzo Jackson 2017

After a storied four year career at the Pingree School, Alonzo Jackson played one final month on the grassroots circuit and in so doing earned himself a full athletic scholarship.

The 6-foot-6 big man joined the Mass Rivals Select team and helped the squad to a championship at the recent BasketBull event.

His efforts led to offers from both Assumption and St. Anselm and after visits to both NE-10 campuses, Jackson committed to St. Anselm last week

Blust Staying in New England
Peter Blust 2017

New Hampton School post-graduate forward Peter Blust won't be leaving New England anytime soon.

The Illinois native recently accepted a full athletic scholarship from Bentley University and will join one of the NE-10's proudest programs next year.

Blust went under-recruited throughout most of his post-graduate season but is bound to be a valuable piece of the rotation for the Falcons next season.

Hardwick is Latest Coppin State Pledge
Jordan Hardwick 2017

Commonwealth Academy senior Jordan Hardwick committed to Coppin State on Monday evening, announcing his decision via his twitter account:

Hardwick is the third Connecticut product, joining Putnam Science guard KeAndre Fair and St. Luke's guard Joel Boyce, to commit to Coppin State since Juan Dixon was named the program's new head coach less than two weeks ago. Dixon previously starred at Maryland and played in the NBA for many years.

A long and extremely bouncy athlete, Hardwick is young for his grade and has significant upside. He's started to develop a face-up game within the last year or so but is undoubtedly still just scratching the surface of his physical potential.

Andover’s Lewis Earns D1 Scholarship
James Lewis 2017

Phillips Andover Academy big man James Lewis flew under the radar all year long but ultimately his patience was rewarded with increasing division I interest throughout the season and ultimately a commitment to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Lewis is one of the first players to commit to Lamont Paris, the former Wisconsin assistant who was named Chattanooga's new head coach last month after Matt McCall left to take the job at UMass.

Lesure, Morris, & Godwin headline recent D3 commitments

Commitments have been flying off the board at a rapid rate in recent weeks and in the process some division III schools have gotten some steals.

One of the most notable recent commitments is that of Bridgton Academy post-graduate Jack Lesure to Hobart College where he will follow in the foot-steps of his father and coach, Whit Lesure.

Playing for your father can be difficult, no matter who you are, but Jack Lesure is unique. You won’t find many young players you can match the consistency of his work ethic, toughness, or intellect for the game. He’s also a great teammate and a clear leader on the floor.

Prior to spending his post-graduate year at Bridgton, Jack previously starred at nearby Lake Region High School where he led his team to a state championship in 2016, was named the Most Outstanding Player in Southern Maine B in the process, as well as a finalist for Maine’s Mr. Basketball Award.

Smith is D2 Bound

South Kent School guard Kevin Smith committed to division II Pace University earlier this week.

His decision punctuates what has been one of the better individual stories in prep school basketball this year.

Originally from Hamden (CT), Smith first appeared at the prep level at Putnam Science Academy, where he struggled to compete with the program's top players.

Ellis is a D2 Steal
Derrick Ellis 2017

Mercyhurst University, a Catholic liberal arts college in Erie (PA), came to New England and grabbed a late steal on Friday afternoon when Commonwealth Academy point guard Derrick Ellis committed to the Lakers.

Ellis' resume exceeds that of almost any other D2 signee. He not on played in the EYBL but often started for an Expressions team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam. He was also the floor general for a Commonwealth Academy team that spent the entire season ranked among the top 8 prep programs in the country before advancing to the National Prep Championship for the first time in program history.

Tilton’s Butler Bound for SNHU

ood things come to those who wait, as the old saying goes, but in the world of recruiting sometimes waiting doesn't always pay off.

For Tilton's Jalen Butler though, it certainly did.

Butler came to Tilton this year as a post-graduate guard and stood out in many fall open gyms as he and Marcuz Zegarowski would often go head-to-head.
