It will be shown on MPBN at 9 p.m. Monday, the anniversary of the Muhammad Ali-Sonny Liston fight. It will also be screened starting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, where the match was held. Tickets are $10 or $12 for that two-hour event.

Ali anniversary in Lewiston

(Portland) Fifty two years ago the Boxing world had its eye on Lewiston, Maine. The late great Muhammad Ali shocked the sports world when he fought Sonny Liston for the heavyweight championship on May 25th, 1965 in Lewiston, ME. The fight originally was supposed to take place at the old Boston Garden but instead was moved to Maine with less than three weeks to go in the fight!
