The State of Maine Sportsman’s Show at the Augusta Civic Center starts March 28.
When does spring come to Maine?

For me, spring begins with the State of Maine Sportsman’s Show at the Augusta Civic Center, and the 34th such event runs from March 28 to March 30 – a weekend full of hundreds of exhibitors, 75 seminars, bow shooting, Laser Shot (firearms training simulator), face painting, Sparky the Clown and a fishing pond for kids.

Folks can attend the extravaganza all weekend and not see it all – particularly the informative seminars. Yes, the show is bigger than it looks...

OUTDOORS: Sportsman’s Show features wide variety
The Augusta Civic Center is hosting the 34th annual edition of the event, which runs Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.

It’s old home weekend for many of the state’s outdoors enthusiasts as they gather beginning today for the 34th annual Maine Sportsman’s Show at the Augusta Civic Center. Show co-manager Kelly Allen expects about 10,000 people this weekend to view the hundreds of exhibits in the main auditorium and attend the 75 seminars. There’s also a fishing pond, a Cub’s Den and Sparky the Clown. Kids and adults can test their skills at an outdoor casting pond...
