SJ All-Region Softball: Waterman stepped in for Oak Hill

After not starting on the varsity team as a freshman, Sadie Waterman was thrust into the fire as a sophomore on the Oak Hill softball team — as the ace pitcher and the leadoff batter.

Waterman got comfortable in her role, which was to make opponents feel uncomfortable at the plate, and in the field.

The Raiders had a stellar regular season, and Waterman was a big reason why. And that's a big reason why she has been named the 2017 Sun Journal All-Region Softball Player of the Year.
