... However, the Wildcats bounced back and tied the game at 3-3 with three runs of their own in their half of the fifth.

Those would be the only innings each team scored in until the Clippers came to the plate against Orso in bottom of the seventh with the top of their order due up. St. Pierre broke up Orso’s no-hit bid with a two-out double to the left-center fence in the fourth and was first up for the Clippers in the seventh.

“My first thing I told Abby (Orso) and Kayla (Dredge) was that we can not give this girl anything good, and you have to keep it high in the zone and away from her,” York softball coach Mona Blais said. “(Orso) got that pitch down a little and (St. Pierre) was still able to get to it.
