Camden Hills cruises past Edward Little in semis; Kelly sets goal mark

ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills girls soccer squad experienced impressive team and individual accomplishments on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28 and, in doing so, the Windjammers have set themselves up for a chance to defend their Class A North and state championships in the coming days.

The No. 1, unbeaten Windjammers turned in yet another dominating pitch performance on Saturday en route to a 6-0 semifinal playoff victory over No. 5 Edward Little at sun-splashed Don Palmer Field and, in the process, also saw one of their own achieve an incredible career milestone.

Kristina Kelly, only a sophomore, set the team's career scoring record with her 68th goal early in the second half and, for good measure, the incredibly talented youngster added her 69th later in the game.

The athletically-gifted Kelly entered Saturday's postseason game tied with recent Windjammer graduates Charlotte Messer and Emma Gutheniz with 67career goals. ... rk/1699793
