Caldwell ‘excited’ for 23rd season with Wildcats

...Seniors Payton Humphrey and Ellie Bychok have been named captains for this season.

Humphrey has been a three-year defensive starter for the Wildcats.

“She has been a rock on defense since she got here,′ Caldwell said. “She’s a player that every team we play has to pay attention to for 80 minutes. She’s a phenomenal practice player, she’s hard-nosed, and the kids respect her.”

Humphrey will continue her soccer career next fall at the University of Vermont,

“She came in as a pretty good athlete and she has gotten better each year,” Caldwell said. “Getting better means she has gotten stronger and faster; she has always had confidence. She is just a hungry athlete and she just leads by example.”

Hermon girls soccer hopes tradition can catapault it to a state title

HERMON - MJ Ball has been coaching Hermon girls soccer for four years. In that time there has been one constant, a mile run every morning that needs to be finished in under seven minutes and fifteen seconds.

“It sets that there’s a standard that we expect and we want players to work hard in the offseason,” Ball said.
