The list Travis tweeted out was sent from the Lobster Bowl organizers.....but yes as every year, it can change due to players not wanting to play or having other obligations...sometimes if my memory serves me, last minute replacements are picked within last few days, though you still have to fundraise enough to play

Reynolds to represent Houlton at Lobster Bowl

One Houlton Shiretowner will be playing on the East squad and it's Damon Reynolds. Reynolds was an offensive and defensive lineman during his career with Houlton. The game will be played on July 21st at Thornton Academy and we will have a story with Reynolds once it gets closer to the game.

Lisbon's Mynahan among Lobster Bowl coaches; Rosters announced

...Mynahan, who retired after the 2016 season with a 30-season record of 209-85, will be the coach of the West team for the 29th annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic, to be played Saturday, July 21, at Thornton Academy.

Brunswick head coach Dan Cooper will head the East Squad.

The all-star game pits the state’s top players from the Class of 2018.

“It’s for a great cause but what I like about it is you get the so-called best players in the state playing in an all-star game,” said Cooper, who has twice been an assistant coach. “It’s another game where they get a chance to play and shine and, being a part of it in the past, the atmosphere is awesome.”

Four Midcoast athletes tackle final game at Lobster Bowl Classic
Mariner Freeman, Lion Harford, Panther Bowers, Mustang Keating to play

...From the area schools, Oceanside’s Jack Freeman, Belfast’s Konnor Harford, Medomak Valley’s Garrett Bowers and Mount View’s Matt Keating will be part of the Lobster Bowl’s East squad.

Belfast coach Chris Bartlett also will be one of the East squad’s coaches. Bartlett recently announced he would step down from his post as the Lions’ head coach after nine season, thus, this will be Bartlett’s final game coaching.

"I am so grateful to have one last game and for it to be for such a great cause," said Bartlett. "This will definitely be a special one and getting a chance to coach one last time with some of my closest friends who coach other teams is the best thing I could have hoped for."

Lobster Bowl participants get the message of game's meaning

...Emily Williams of Auburn and patient ambassador for Shriners Hospitals Alec Cabacungan were the equivalent of mini-Knute Rockne on Sunday, delivering a powerful message to 90 players and 44 cheerleaders who will represent schools from across the state for the 29th edition of the game, which will be held July 21 at Thornton Academy to benefit 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children in North America.

“We need your strong legs to run so that we may walk,” said Cabacungan, a 15-year-old from Chicago who has osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic bone disorder that has caused more than 60 broken bones in his lifetime.

The face of the Shriners Hospitals recent national ad campaign and an aspiring sportscaster, Cabacungan has played on national champion wheelchair basketball and softball teams and said he has had many other doors opened to him because of the care he’s received.
