West

Veino QB 6' 2" 215
Laverriere RB 6' 2" 235
Day utility
Belanger WR
Ekendahl 6'3 WR
Thebarge WR
Salemone 6' 4". TE

Big boys

Gammons
Bartholomeau
Coussole
Etc....

Just to name a few. Athletic backfield QB and RB 1 combined 450 lbs . Would be nasty. Probably have butchered a few names no disrespect just poor spelling.

Can't wait to see Trey Wood TRY to stop Laverriere in the hole and put Blackbears argument to rest. It should be fun.

Brown to represent Shires at the Losbster Bowl

HOULTON, Me (WAGM) - The Houlton football team knows it's representative for the Lobster Bowl.

Austin Brown gets the nod for the Shires this year. Brown was a running back and free safety for the Shires this past season. According to his head coach Brian Reynolds, Brown is planning on going to Bridgton Academy to do a prep year and play football.

Chomamma, that would be one hell of a team.

I don't know if Laverriere will play. This is a total guess, but I know he was injured for most of the season and he has a D-1 scholarship to fill in the Fall. I would love to see him get some touches. I have seen him working out at the gym lately so maybe he is good to go, who knows.

I always enjoy this game, because I get to see the kids I never saw throughout the year. For example, when I saw Nick Crutchfield play when he was at Dirigo, I was like, "wow, what have I been missing by staying down South all year?".

Football players learn meaning of Lobster Bowl
They gain appreciation of annual game with trip to Kora Shrine Temple in Lewiston.

...Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl XXVIII will be played July 15 at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford. The annual game raises money for Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. On Sunday, this year’s participants saw first hand what the game is all about at the first team meetings at the Kora Shrine Temple in Lewiston.

Football players, cheerleaders, and their families met with Shriners and coaches on Sunday to discuss fundraising and meet their new teammates. They also heard from patients who have been treated at a Shriner’s hospital, who have directly benefited from the funds raised by games like the Lobster Bowl.

The group heard from a girl who was treated at Shriner’s hospitals for a condition that causes weak bones. Taylor Heath, a quarterback from Cony High School, said he was touched by the girl’s positive attitude, despite the challenges she has faced.

Biddeford’s Waterhouse Field closure forces move of Lobster Bowl, graduation
The bleachers at the iconic Biddeford field have been deemed unsafe.

...The report concluded that “the bleachers and press box should be closed pending further analysis.” It also stated that repairing the bleachers “may be cost-prohibitive when compared to a complete replacement of the bleachers.”

The visiting bleachers were installed in 1985, as were the lights, and the home bleachers in 1999. Both sides have had substantial repairs over the years.

“We knew this was coming,” said Mayor Alan Casavant. “It’s not a shock. We’ve been worried about those bleachers for a while. Once the engineer gave his report it brought everything to forefront. We’ve had a lot of public debate in last year or so; now all of a sudden it’s a reality check because we have to do something.”
