Speedway 95 Holds Car Showcase at Bangor Mall

Looking ahead to their upcoming season, Speedway 95 held a showcase at the Bangor Mall Sunday.

Drivers had their cars on display in hopes of winning prizes voted on by spectators.

Awards up for grabs included best in class and best dressed crew.

The showcase is held as a way to get people excited about a new racing season.

Drivers Gear Up for Speedway 95 Season

Stock car racing season at Speedway 95 is almost here. They’ll test and tune next weekend and a week later they’ll start racing.

This weekend 34 of the race cars were at the Bangor Mall. We checked in with some of the drivers.

Speedway 95 Opening Day

Opening day for Speedway 95 today in Hermon. A perfect day for racing according to the people in the pit. The drivers all around the track fighting the nerves. The fans eager to see the first races. Many different classes competing including, a new one for Speedway 95, the Outlaw Sportsmen. They were doing some rubbing already in race one. Just like any sport the anticipation for the opener of the season makes it special. All the drivers want to start the year right…

Speedway 95, Oxford Plains plan holiday weekend racing, festivities

oungsters will get the opportunity to paint a race car on Saturday night at Speedway 95 in Hermon as part of the Memorial Day weekend celebrations.

Also kicking off the season will be the go-karts at Speedway 95 on Saturday. The gates will open at 7 a.m. and karting will continue until 2 p.m.

On Saturday night, the Speedway 95 KidzKlub, under the direction of Wally and Penny Gibbons, will provide all children with the opportunity to paint a race car beginning at 6:30. That car will race later in the season with its new paint scheme. The kids will also parade through the grandstands with American flags during the national anthem.

Speedway 95 celebrates Memorial Day Weekend

HERMON - Speedway 95 made the most of Memorial Day Weekend, continuing its efforts to help the community.

The local raceway held qualifiers for the Ikey Dorr Memorial Street Stock Race, which will take place in October and benefits Maine veterans.

Speedway 95 prepares for Monster Jam weekend event

HERMON - Speedway 95 continues its season this weekend, with a fan favorite taking over the local track.

Monster Jam has come to town once again, and is set to perform four shows over the weekend.

The national tour will be bringing eight trucks, an increase from just six last summer.

Goodman edges dad to win ‘95’ RoadRunner feature

HERMON, Maine — James Goodman of Hampden won his qualifier in the RoadRunner Division at Speedway 95 on Wednesday night and then led all 20 laps of the season opener to claim his first feature win of the new season.

James Goodman started on the pole next to his father, Jimmy Goodman of Hampden, who had won the second RoadRunner qualifier of the night. Jimmy Goodman took second.

Holden’s Alvin McNevin worked his way up from an eighth-place starting spot to claim third, followed by Dustin Carrow of Carmel and Adam Gardner of Bangor.

New Hampshire driver picks up first PASS win at Speedway 95

Derek Griffith of Hudson, New Hampshire posted his first-ever Pro All-Stars Series Super Late Model North victory at Hermon’s Speedway 95 on Sunday.

Griffith started third in the Hight Chevrolet Buick GMC 150 and was one of five drivers who led the race at some point.

Morrill’s Travis Benjamin finished second with Scarborough’s Garrett Hall, D.J. Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire, and Hermon’s Mike Hopkins rounding out the top five.

Cassius Clark of Farmington was sixth with Dave Farrington Jr. of Jay winding up seventh, Turner’s Glen Luce finishing eighth, Ellsworth’s Andy Saunders coming in ninth and Frankfort’s Bobby Seger completing the top 10 in the 18-car field.
