Hawks finally put Noble away, 2-0

OUTH BERWICK, Maine — Despite having a good portion of possession in the first half, the Marshwood High School boys soccer team had a tough time breaking through the strong Noble central defense anchored by Bailey Coull and Austin Shorey.

Marshwood finally was able to break-through in 37th minute when Riley Dinsmore-Patch got a touch up field to Henry Herbold, who broke in all alone. Herbold got his foot on the ball and tipped it into the goal for the opening goal. Marshwood stifled Noble the rest of the way to pick up a 2-0 Class A South victory.

“The goalie had come out to find the ball,” said Herbold. “I was able to kick it past him, chipping it over him. They came out hard and we came out a bit slow. It was a big goal, because at the time you never know what can happen.”
