Lewiston/Monmouth/Oak Hill puts away Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland

...“It’s a war of attrition with that team because Manny is very good,” Blue Devils coach Ron Dumont said. “So you got to — at least for us — we just got to put pucks on net until we can get something through.”

The Red Hornets (4-11-1), who only put five shots on net in the first meeting, had chances of their own in the first period, but Camree St. Hilaire made a key saves when she needed to, including stopping Madi Cote on a backdoor shot and Bri Doucette on a late breakaway.

“Camree’s a heck of a goalie,” Red Hornets coach Dana Berube said. “A couple breakaways, and I think Madi Cote hit the post there, it could have been much different early on, and that game would have been a little bit closer.”

Both goalies stood tall in the second period, and penalties did their part in stymieing the offenses as well, but the Blue Devils again were able to break through. Landry scored on a rebound of a Robert shot during 4-on-4 play with 5:30 left in the middle frame.
