State Cheering Competition – February 9, 2019 ~ Augusta Civic Center

CLASSES D and A

8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Building Opens and Registration (No coaches meeting)
8:45 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Warm-up / Music Check / Optional Tumbling Warm-Up
9:55 a.m. National Anthem
10:00 a.m. Classes D Competition Begins followed by Class A Competition
12:00 p.m. Presentation of Awards

Clear The Auditorium

CLASSES B and C
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Registration (No coaches meeting)
12:45 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Warm-up / Music Check / Optional Tumbling Warm-Up
1:55 p.m. National Anthem
2:00 p.m. Class B & C Competition Begins
4:30 p.m. Presentation of Awards

he Central Aroostook Cheerleaders will be looking for another State Championship on Saturday. The Panthers have won 10 of the last 11 States including the last five in a row. The Panthers success means they always have a target on their back at every competition.

Olivia Pelletier:" There is a lot of pressure after you win for so many consecutive years. We lost Regional' s last year so this year going into competition there was a lot of pressure because we were the underdogs instead of being the ones who had the title."

Interesting the PPH had write-ups for these competitions and they were in the "Local & State" section of the paper not the sports section. Does this mean that the PPH does not consider Cheering a sport?
