Solar-powered Windjammers rally to oust Eagles in prelim playoff
Eve Gutheinz nets game-winner for Camden Hills, unbeaten St. Dom's next

SOUTH CHINA — Finding itself down four goals in the opening minutes of the team’s Class B North prelim playoff match on Saturday morning, June 4, No. 10 Camden Hills easily could have folded up its tent and headed home.

But the Windjammers quickly erased their deficit against No. 7 Erskine Academy and scored what proved the game-winning goal by Eve Gutheinz with 3:24 left in regulation as the visitors held on to nab an impressive 10-9 victory.

Late offensive push lifts Mariners over Rams
No. 8 Oceanside faces No. 1 Morse of Bath June 8 in quarterfinals

THOMASTON — With a trip to play No. 1 Morse of Bath in the quarterfinals as the prize, the Oceanside and Cony of Augusta girls lacrosse teams laid it all on the line during a Monday, June 6 Class B North prelim playoff match — a postseason affair that literally was not decided until the final horn.

In the end, with the 48-minute match tied 6-6 in the final minutes, identical twin sisters Jillian and Kelsey Brooks scored goals, the game-winner in the fleeting seconds, to lift the host Mariners to an exciting 8-7 win over the Rams...

CLASS B SOUTH GIRLS LACROSSE QUARTERFINALS
No. 6 Greely stuns Wildcats

YORK, Maine — Greely only led for 6.5 seconds. But it was the final 6.5 seconds.

The sixth seeded Rangers came back from a pair of three-goal deficits to upset No. 3 seed York, 11-10, in the Class B South girls lacrosse playoffs on Wednesday.

York (8-5) jumped out to a 3-0 lead and later led 6-3, but both times Greely (7-6) didn’t roll over and continued to battle.
